K&L Gates Welcomes Returning Chicago IP Litigation Partner
Chicago - The Chicago office of global law firm K&L Gates LLP welcomes Christopher (C.J.) Fahy as a partner in its intellectual property litigation practice. Previously with K&L Gates from 2005-2011, Fahy rejoins the firm from Quarles & Brady LLP, where he served as chair of the IP litigation group.
Focusing his practice on the acquisition, protection, and utilization of patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, Fahy develops litigation strategy for clients across a variety of industry sectors, including robotics, automotive, gaming, biotechnology, electrical and mechanical systems, outdoor goods and services, and confectionaries. He represents clients before the International Trade Commission, United States Patent and Trademark Office, and numerous district and appellate courts.
“We are excited to have C.J. back in our IP litigation group,” said Robert Barrett, a leader of K&L Gates’ global intellectual property practice area. “His vast litigation experience strengthens our already powerhouse global IP litigation practice. Any time an attorney returns to a law firm, it demonstrates you are doing something right, especially when it is someone with C.J.’s experience and leadership skills. We can’t wait to work with C.J. again.”
K&L Gates’ intellectual property litigation practice serves clients around the world, protecting critical fundamental client assets, iconic brands, and proprietary information, as well as emerging technologies such as novel drug therapies and cloud services. With litigators on four continents devoted to patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret litigation, the group handles every scale of dispute, from large, complex multi-jurisdiction matters and bet-your-company confrontations between industry leaders, to litigation involving non-practicing entities, to modest license dispute and piracy matters.
K&L Gates is a fully integrated global law firm with lawyers located across five continents. The firm represents leading multinational corporations, growth and middle-market companies, capital markets participants and entrepreneurs in every major industry group as well as public sector entities, educational institutions, philanthropic organizations and individuals.
