K&L Gates Strengthens Investment Management Practice with New York Partner Addition
6 August 2015
New York - The New York office of global law firm K&L Gates LLP welcomes Edward Dartley as a partner in the investment management, hedge funds and alternative investments and private equity practices. He joins K&L Gates from Pepper Hamilton LLP.
Dartley’s practice encompasses many areas across the asset management industry, with particular focus on alternative investment asset classes, private equity and venture capital funds, and managed accounts, as well as regulatory, compliance, and operational matters and compliance audits. Previously a former counsel and chief compliance officer with a registered investment adviser with several billion dollars under management, he has extensive experience advising clients in the direct marketplace (peer to-peer) industry and on international regulatory matters.
A founding member of the Bloomberg Alternative Marketing Council, Dartley also counsels energy-focused alternative asset managers and companies as well as others in the traditional and alternative energy industries on a wide variety of matters.
“Ed is well-respected in the marketplace and will serve as a great addition to K&L Gates’ New York investment management team and overall global practice,” said John Bicks, administrative partner of K&L Gates’ New York office. “With more than 10 years of experience as in-house counsel, Ed possesses a 360-degree understanding of clients’ needs and expectations.”
Dartley is the fourth partner or of counsel addition to K&L Gates’ investment management, hedge funds and alternative investments practice this year, following the earlier arrivals of Kenneth Holston in Boston, Jacob Ghanty in London, and Michael Wong in Hong Kong.
