K&L Gates Continues Texas Growth with Addition of Houston Oil and Gas Counsel
Houston - The Houston office of global law firm K&L Gates LLP has added Jon C. Vicklund as a counsel in the oil, gas and resources practice. Vicklund arrives at K&L Gates from Winstead PC, reuniting with a team of five energy colleagues who joined K&L Gates from that firm early last year.
Vicklund focuses his practice on matters involving commercial litigation, eminent domain, products liability claims, personal injury, toxic torts, insurance defense, and real estate issues, among others. He has experience negotiating purchase and sale agreements and contract disputes, updating procedures and contracts, resolving catastrophic personal injury lawsuits, and disputing fraud allegations for companies in industries including oil and gas, environmental, transportation, chemical, and manufacturing.
“Jon brings a wealth of experience and his addition is a real boost to the Houston office and the Texas energy practice,” said Michael T. Murphy, managing partner of K&L Gates’ Houston office. “We are thrilled to have him join us.”
Vicklund’s arrival follows the addition of a four-lawyer intellectual property team in Austin this week, including partners Stewart Mesher, Darlene Ghavimi, and Henry Pogorzelski and counsel Adam Stegge, as well as the earlier Texas additions of construction and infrastructure partner Bart Turner and power partner Robert George in Houston, and the aforementioned energy team of Jeff King, Jamie Bryan, Chris Brown, Elizabeth Tiblets, and Mitchell Murphy in Fort Worth, Dallas, and Houston.
K&L Gates is a fully integrated global law firm with lawyers located across five continents. The firm represents leading multinational corporations, growth and middle-market companies, capital markets participants and entrepreneurs in every major industry group as well as public sector entities, educational institutions, philanthropic organizations and individuals.
