K&L Gates Boosts Banking and Asset Finance Practice with Chicago Partner Addition

Chicago - Global law firm K&L Gates LLP has added Marisa Murillo as a partner in its banking and asset finance practice. Murillo joins K&L Gates’ Chicago office from Locke Lord LLP.
 
Murillo focuses her practice on structuring a wide range of complex financing transactions, including senior and junior capital financings, leveraged acquisitions, commitment papers, subordination and intercreditor agreements, debt and equity restructurings, distressed lending, stimulus loans, and working capital facilities. Her clients comprise middle-market senior and mezzanine lenders and borrowers, private equity sponsors, and other corporate entities. In addition to her career in private practice, Murillo was a corporate attorney for General Motors Corporation.

Along with her legal practice, Murillo has served as a regional president of the Hispanic National Bar Association; on the advisory board of the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago; and as a member of the board of directors of the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit and the Luminary Committee of the Art Institute of Chicago. She also volunteers her time with the Emerge Committee of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Chicago, the Steppenwolf Theater of Chicago, and the International Refugee Assistance Program.
