K&L Gates Assists Sentiss Pharma in Acquisition of Akorn AG Switzerland
Global law firm K&L Gates LLP recently advised pharmaceutical manufacturing company Sentiss Pharma on the successful acquisition of Akorn AG Switzerland, along with its US FDA-approved sterile manufacturing plant and diverse portfolio of approved products for the US market.
The acquisition allows Sentiss Pharma to expand their capabilities and global market presence, and includes a line of unique, high market demand products and abbreviated new drug applications (ANDAs) that complement the company’s current offerings.
The K&L Gates team that advised Sentiss Pharma on the acquisition was led by New York Corporate partner Jonathan Barron and Raleigh office Restructuring partner Lee Hogewood, and supported by New York associate Arielle Wisotsky.
“We were delighted to participate with Sentiss in a complex and successful bankruptcy auction process that will allow our client to restore the supply of a number of products to the benefit of many US patients, including children with significant respiratory issues,” Hogewood stated.
