Pittsburgh – Global law firm K&L Gates LLP is advising Sinch AB (publ) (XSTO: SINCH) on its acquisition of Pathwire, a cloud-based email delivery platform, valued at approximately U.S.$1.9 billion. Founded in 2008, Sinch brings businesses and people together with tools enabling personal engagement. The cross-border K&L Gates team advising Sinch on the acquisition is led by M&A partner David Edgar (Pittsburgh), with assistance from partner Calvina Bostick (New York) and associate Jorgen Rehn (Pittsburgh). Other K&L Gates team members include: client relationship partner Dr. Thilo Winkeler (Berlin), Jennifer Thiem (Charleston), Annette Mutschler-Siebert (Berlin), Adam Tejeda (New York), Jay Buchman (New York), Spencer Hamer (Orange County), Rikki Sapolich-Krol (San Francisco), Mark Wittow (Seattle), Jake Bernstein (Seattle), Allen Bachman (Washington, D.C.), Christine Artus (Paris), Jacqueline Nyenke (Seattle), Jeremy Crites (Pittsburgh), and Steven Hill (Washington, D.C.); and associates and others from the firm’s Paris, Berlin, Harrisburg, Los Angeles, Orange County, Pittsburgh, Seattle, and Washington, D.C., offices.
This marks the fourth Sinch acquisition on which K&L Gates advised this year, with the K&L Gates team also having advised Sinch on a September agreement to acquire MessengerPeople for $56 million; a June deal to buy MessageMedia for $1.3 billion; and a February agreement to buy Inteliquent from GTCR LLC for $1.14 billion. K&L Gates also represented Sinch on its $246 million purchase of SAP Digital Interconnect from SAP SE last year.
Edgar commented: “This has been an incredibly exciting year for Sinch and its amazing global team. We are so excited and honored to have the opportunity to advise Sinch on these challenging global deals.”
Winkeler also commented: “It is an honor to be part of this global success story of Sinch. We have been working together with the Sinch team for several years now and advised on M&A transactions on three continents.”
