K&L Gates Advises Continental AG and Tokyo Century on Series-D Financing of Volocopter GmbH
Berlin – Global law firm K&L Gates LLP has advised Continental AG on the acquisition of shares in Volocopter GmbH during the company’s Series-D financing round. Volocopter is developing a helicopter concept for electrically powered passenger-carrying air cabs based on drone technology.
A separate independent team from K&L Gates also advised the Japanese Tokyo Century Corporation on the acquisition of Volocopter shares in the financing round.
The team advising Continental AG was led by partner Dr. Thilo Winkeler (Berlin, corporate/M&A). Counsel Kerstin Hanke (Frankfurt, corporate/M&A) and senior associate Dr. Thomas Nietsch (Berlin, IP) were also involved. Partner Robert Matlin (New York, capital markets) advised on U.S. aspects.
