K&L Gates Advises Boralex on Joint Venture for 325 MW Onshore Wind Projects in the UK
The joint venture comprises a pipeline of 10 wind projects varying from 6 to 80 MW. With close to 70 MW of other wind projects already being developed by Boralex in Scotland, this joint venture allows the company to materially increase its future footprint as well as take advantage of the significant Scottish wind resource.
Boralex develops, builds, and operates renewable energy power facilities in Canada, France, and the United States. A leader in the Canadian market and France’s largest independent producer of onshore wind power, the corporation’s core segments include wind, hydroelectric, thermal, and solar. UK-based Infinergy is focused on the development, financing, construction, and operation of renewable energy projects, and is active in both onshore wind and solar projects in the UK, The Netherlands, and Australia.
The K&L Gates corporate team advising Boralex included New York partners Sandy Feldman and Holly Hatfield; London special counsel Richard Dollimore; New York associates Ashby Hardesty and Julien Barbey; and London associate Kathryn Jarvis and Trainee Solicitor Emma Jacob. The team was further supported by tax lawyers—New York partner Adam Tejeda, London partner Giles Bavister, and London senior associate David Jacob.
