K&L Gates Adds Labor & Employment, Litigation Partner in Chicago

Chicago - The Chicago office of global law firm K&L Gates LLP welcomes Sang-yul Lee as a partner in the firm’s Labor, Employment and Workplace Safety (LEWS) practice and Global Employer Solutions area. Previously a trial lawyer for the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), he joins K&L Gates from Locke Lord LLP.
Lee focuses his practice on labor and employment law, human resource management issues, and restrictive covenant disputes. He advises on employment litigation; union-management matters including collective bargaining, strikes, and organizing campaigns; restrictive covenant matters including non-compete and trade secrets disputes; mediations and grievance arbitrations; reductions-in-force/redundancy matters; health and safety investigations; and wage and hour investigations and litigation.
Lee represents clients in a wide range of matters before U.S. federal and state courts, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the NLRB, the U.S. Department of Labor, and the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division, in addition to other government agencies. Lee focuses on representing clients in U.S. litigation, labor and employment, and cross-border transactional matters through inter-disciplinary teams and with an emphasis on practicality.
