Kevin primarily focuses his practice on patent portfolio management and related counseling, opinion work, and due diligence. He has domestic and foreign patent prosecution experience involving a variety of technology sectors, including aerospace devices, advanced materials, apparel and active wear, automotive accessories, computer memory devices, computer networking and virtualization, drilling systems, equine and livestock equipment, GPS technology, infusion pumps, medical diagnostic and monitoring devices, smart-TVs, e-commerce applications, business methods, and a variety of miscellaneous mechanical and electromechanical devices.
Kevin has experience in large volume freedom to operate and landscape study work, particularly focused on new product development. This includes both technical and legal IP portfolio investigation and analysis, with specific focus on business impact and risk mitigation. He has performed patentability, invalidity, and infringement analysis over a wide range of technologies. Likewise, Kevin has evaluated commercial products, offerings, and related patent portfolios for M&A transactions, IP acquisition opportunities, licensing, and litigation strategy.
Kevin also has experience in U.S. Patent Office litigation through inter partes review proceedings spanning all stages of the post-grant timeline, from petition preparation to trial.
